The Opportunity

The Research Fellow will contribute towards the research efforts of the University with a specific focus on high-energy physics phenomenology. The role will work across the ARC Discovery Project “Tackling the Computational Bottleneck in Precision Particle Physics” to develop new efficient strategies for event generation at NLO and NNLO accuracy. 

The Research Fellow will conduct research under limited supervision and will develop a limited amount of research-related material for teaching purposes. The role will conduct advanced computational research and provide their field related research advice to PhD and honours students. The Research Fellow may have opportunities to contribute to teaching in relation to their research project. 

The successful candidate will have a doctoral qualification in particle physics or a closely related field. A record of refereed research publications, expertise in perturbative calculations in Quantum Field Theory and extensive knowledge of theoretical particle physics is required for success in this role. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong computer literacy and the ability to solve complex problems. 

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
