Research Scientist in Chemistry University of Virginia, Department of Chemistry United States

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Virginia invites applicants for a Research Scientist position as lab manager in the lab of Dr. Jill Venton.

 

We are seeking a chemist or neuroscientist with expertise in analytical chemistry or neuroscience.  This person will be expected to manage day to day operations in the Venton lab, with an emphasis on management of writing and business aspects.  The scientist will provide complex writing, editing, and lab management support to Professor Venton’s academic research group. They will ensure the production of high-quality and accurate publication materials, journal articles, progress reports, and research grants.  They will work closely with students, postdocs, and the PI on their writing.  They will also manages the business parts of the lab, including protocols, ordering, lab training, budgets, etc.  The research scientist will also perform original research in analytical neurochemistry and also assist and train others in the lab in research techniques.

 

QUALIFCATION REQUIRMENTS:

Candidates must have received their PhD in chemistry, neuroscience, or a related field.  Preference will go to candidates with significant experience with writing and management, as well as research skills.
