About This Role:

The Chemistry Department at Kansas State University is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to assist in performing NIH-sponsored research experiments to study Organic Synthesis. The Research Assistant will be expected to perform the tasks below.

Perform assigned experiments to synthesize small to larger molecules. Carry out solid-state peptide synthesis. Purify molecules using silica-gel chromatography and/or high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC).
Search literature and develop synthetic methods in discussion with supervisor
Write experimental reports on compound synthesis, purification, and characterization using NMR, mass spectrometry(MS), and HPLC

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or above in Chemistry
3 years lab experience in Organic Chemistry with publications
Familiar with compound characterization using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), mass spectrometry (MS), and high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC)
Other Requirements:

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$30,000 - $33,000/annual ($14.42 - $15.86 hourly)
