Department: Faculty of Science Let’s Shape the Future – University of AntwerpThe University of Antwerp is a dynamic, forward-thinking European university. We provide innovative academic education to more than 20,000 students, conduct cutting-edge scientific research, and play a leading role in providing services to society. With over 6,000 employees representing 100 nationalities, we work together to build a better tomorrow. Through top-tier scientific research, we push boundaries and chart the course for the future—and you can help shape it. The Vision Lab within the Department of Physics (Faculty of Science) and the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Histology within the Department of Biomedical Sciences are seeking a full-time (100%) Senior Researcher in Whole-Brain Light-Sheet Microscopy. PositionYou will contribute to the ERC Consolidator Grant project “A data-driven approach to microstructure imaging” (ADAMI), funded by the European Union. ADAMI brings together expertise from physics and engineering (MRI and light-sheet microscopy interpretation), biological and medical sciences (neuroscience and brain microstructure), and computer science (machine learning and AI) to advance predictive microstructure imaging with MRI. Your primary responsibilities include developing and optimising an integrated image analysis pipeline to quantify neural and glial cell composition across brain regions using in toto light-sheet microscopy of healthy and neurodegenerative mouse brains. You will be embedded in both the Vision Lab (image processing and analysis) and the Laboratory of Cell Biology and Histology (light-sheet microscopy). As a postdoctoral/senior researcher, you will also help coordinate the project and assist in supervising PhD students. Profile
