The Department of Physics at the University of Gothenburg is located on the main campus of Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, with a total of some 80 employees. The communication routes are good both nationally and internationally. The researching focuses within the fields of Atom- and Molecular Physics, Condensed Matter Physics and Spintronics, and Complex Systems and Biophysics and is performed in an international environment with extensive national and international collaborations. The education programs at the Department include Bachelor- and Master programs in Physics, physics teacher-training programs, as well as outreach courses in Physics aimed for the general public. Gothenburg Physics Centre is a close collaboration with four other departments within the Faculty of Science and Chalmers University of Technology creates an innovative environment for all researchers and students at the department.

Information about the researchgroup:


Alexandre Dmitriev’s research group operates at the junction of nanoplasmonics and nanomagnetism (the fast emerging research field called ’magnetoplasmonics’), producing magnetically-controlled optical platforms and studying the influence of nanoplasmons on magnetism. The group is also active in developing new bottom-up nanofabrication methods, and in research on nano-photovoltaics.

 Job assignments

You are expected to lead the experimental work in bottom-up nanofabrication with hole-mask colloidal lithography of magnetoplasmonic nanoantennas and characterize them with optical and magneto-optical spectroscopy, in strong collaboration with other partners in the project.

 

Eligibility


To qualify as a researcher, the applicant must have completed a Swedish doctoral degree or must have a foreign degree corresponding to a Swedish doctoral degree.

Qualifications


Extensive experience with experimental nanoplasmonics and nanomagnetism, clean-room-based bottom-up nanofabrication with hole-mask colloidal lithography and experimental magneto-optics. Experience with simulation packages (Lumerical, Comsol).
